Five Star to host awards banquet, announce finalists during annual conference

DALLAS, TX Aug. 16, 2019 –The Five Star Conference today announced Amanda Buffington-Gunderson as a nominee for Rising Business Leader in the Women in Housing Leadership awards, honoring the tremendous achievements of female business leaders from housing and mortgage servicing.  The Women in Housing banquet takes place Wednesday, September 25 from 12:30 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. during the three-day Five Star Conference in Dallas, Texas.

Now in its eighth year, the Women in Housing Banquet provides conference attendees with the opportunity to hear inspirational women leaders share success stories from both a personal and professional perspective. Incorporating a theme of “Voices,” the banquet pays tribute to the critical but often underappreciated role women continue to play in our industry and how important it is that their voices are heard.

Amanda Buffington-Gunderson is the Vice President of Business Relations and Marketing for McMichael Taylor Gray, LLC, headquartered in Atlanta, GA.  She manages all aspects of client relations, marketing, advertising and branding.  She started her career with Novastar Mortgage and transitioned to the default arena in 2008.  During her diverse career, she has worked both for servicers and law firms, such as Statebridge Company, Cal Western Reconveyance and Stern & Eisenberg.  She is the co-chair of the mentoring committee with the American Legal and Financial Network and a member of their Women in Legal Leadership Committee.  Amanda has spoken on numerous panels and webinars.  She has spent several years coaching and mentoring youth in both Colorado and Texas where she has coached softball and cheerleading. She has worked with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Colorado.  Currently, she is a member of the Beck Elementary PTA in Trophy Club, TX.  During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
